To keep your candle burning beautifully, please read our suggestions for how best to care for it. When you first light your candle, allow the flame to burn until the surface wax becomes molten and pools, leaving only a thin ring of solid wax around the inner edge of the vessel. Letting the surface layer liquify like this sets the wax’s memory and prolongs the lifespan of the candle, helping it to burn evenly rather than “tunnelling”. The time it takes for the wax to pool will depend on the size of your candle. Once the flame is extinguished, straighten and re-centre the wick. Again, this will help the candle to burn evenly. Allow the wax to harden and trim the wick so it’s between 3 and 5mm long. This prevents the flame from smoking or getting too high. When you’re not burning your candle, store it somewhere cool, using the lid we’ve provided to keep it dry and free from dust.
