How-to: Take Care of your Eyes

It might be a cliché but it doesn’t make it any less true, we really do take the general heath of our eyes for granted.

If we consider the skin on our face to be like a normal sheet of paper, the skin around our eyes is like tissue – so gentle should be our watchword. Using only gentle natural products and applying them with the lightest, most delicate, touches will help keep our eyes clear, bright, soothed and smooth, free from deep lines and dark circles.

The Gentle Touch

While most of us will care for our eyes with a special moisturiser we can undo all our good work removing make-up with a harsh product. So choose a remover formulated especially for this delicate area like Bio-Active Eye Cleanser and sweep away make-up with gentle, light movements, working inwards, no dragging!

Seeing Blue or Blue Light Stress

Itchy, red, sensitive eyes are becoming a more common, modern ailment down to how much time we spend on screens. When we look at computer screens or our phones for any length of time we blink less, which makes our eyes weary and dry.

For a brighter outlook keep Soothing Eye Lotion in the fridge for an instant daily treat. Dampen a cotton wool pad with the lotion and sweep over the eyes or, better still, leave on for 5 minutes, to relax the muscles, calm puffiness and generally revitalise.

Wind Down

Make eye health part of your prep for a truly refreshing night’s sleep by using a soothing compress 5 minutes before bed using Soothing Eye Lotion. However, even the classic cucumber slices will cool, calm and soothe tired, red, hot or itchy eyes, ready for perfect slumbers.

Too much of a good thing

Skin around your eyes absorbs all moisture you apply, which may sound good, but too much will make eyes look puffy. Avoid swollen results by using only a grain of rice-sized amount of Lift & Firm Intensive Eye Serum and 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturiser for both eyes and pat in gently with the pad of your ring finger, working inwards from the outside of your socket.
