In order to help you achieve silky hair or long stay make-up, chances are the products you’re using contain Silicone. First introduced to the cosmetics industry in the 1950s, Silicone is derived from natural product Silica.

A synthetic material widely used in many cosmetics, Silicone creates an artificial film giving skin and hair a smooth texture as well as boosting the look, feel and spreading performance of lotions and creams.

Known to block pores, no ESPA product or formula contains Silicone, preferring instead to use plant oils and extracts such as Olive and Coconut Oil extracts to make our products feel as smooth as silk.

Developing our haircare range of shampoo and conditioner to be Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES) and silicone free for example – we’re proud to use natural ingredients in a natural way.
