Like our face, the skin on our bodies can feel quite dry as we emerge from winter. Not only do we cover up far more in the colder months, but we’re also less inclined to exfoliate or nourish the skin on our bodies – often leaving it looking dull, uneven and feeling a bit neglected.

As spring sets in and we step outside to start enjoying the great outdoors a little more, there’s more chance of us revealing our arms and lower legs. To ensure the skin on your body looks as fresh, healthy and bright as your face, Senior Trainer Nicola Baillie reveals her morning and evening body boost routines to ensure you’re glowing from head to toe.

A stimulating start to every day

What you’ll need:

Whether you can spare a couple of minutes each morning, or just 20 seconds while the shower warms up, dry brushing with our natural Skin Brush is a perfect awakener – and exactly what we need when we’re starting to reveal a little more skin. Simple yet so effective, you’ll instantly notice an improvement in skin’s softness, smoothness and glow, while over time you’ll see tone and texture improve and the appearance of cellulite diminish.

When time is short, focus on a particular area, for example your arms or legs. If you have more time, go for a full body brush:

  1. Starting at your feet, brush in brisk strokes up your legs to your hips
  2. From the waist, brush downwards towards the hips, then up and outwards from the décolleté
  3. Finish by brushing from the wrists to your shoulders

Once you’re in the shower, reach for Energizing Shower Gel – its zesty aromas of May Chang, Eucalyptus and Peppermint are an amazing sensorial kick-start to your day and will absolutely inspire your get up and go!

Once you’re out of the shower, lock in moisture with a sweep of Detoxifying Body Oil while skin is still damp. This particular body oil so perfectly complements your skin brushing and cleansing – helping boost circulation, purify the body and intensely nourish the skin while also really uplifting the spirits with its scents of Juniper and Cypress Essential Oils.

A weekly treat to relax, restore and revive

What you’ll need:

This weekly routine completely flexes around you. Use it to jump-start a new bodycare routine for the spring season, deliver a revitalizing boost for the weekend after a tiring working week, or as some Sunday evening R&R to prime mind and body for the week ahead.

Run a warm bath. Once it’s to your desired temperature and depth, turn off the tap and add one or two capfuls ofEnergizing Bath Oil… your bathroom will fill with enlivening aromas of Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Rosemary – simply perfect for inspiring the mind and body this spring. What’s more, this delicious scent will linger on your skin long after bathtime too.

Next, stand up in your bath and massage Relaxing Salt Scrub all over your body, paying particular attention to elbows, knees and feet – which tend to get especially dry and neglected over winter. Don’t worry about the natural sea salt dropping down into your bath, this will only do your skin even more good when you’re lying back in the dissolved salts and oils later.

Enjoy a good soak for at least 20 minutes. Let your mind switch off and your senses take in the scents around you and the feel of the water on your skin.

Finish by massaging Skin Rescue Balm into elbows, knees and heels – this intense treatment instantly nourishes troublesome dry spots.

And you’re done! Ready, radiant from head to toe and feeling determined to grasp everything this bright new season holds.
